I've been using Evernote for years and have thousands of notes. Can I bring them over?
Yes. Export your Evernote notes as .enex files and import them into Apptly. Text content, formatting, and attachments import cleanly. Tags from Evernote become searchable in Apptly, though they won't display as tags since Apptly doesn't use a tag system — everything is found through search and AI connections instead.
Evernote has a web clipper I use constantly. Does Apptly have one?
Not currently. If web clipping is a core part of your workflow, that's a genuine limitation of Apptly at this stage. The best workaround is using your browser's share sheet to send a page's text to Apptly as a note. A web clipper is on the roadmap.
Evernote's free plan became almost unusable. How restrictive is Apptly's free plan?
Significantly less restrictive. Apptly's free plan includes unlimited notes, cross-device sync, full-text search, and all three apps with no note count limit. The things behind the Pro paywall are AI features and storage, not basic functionality. We remember what it felt like when Evernote's free plan got progressively more limited — we've deliberately avoided that model.
Is Apptly's privacy actually better than Evernote's?
Yes, in a meaningful way. Evernote processes note content on cloud servers to power features. Apptly's AI runs on-device — note content never leaves your device to power any AI feature. Notes stored on our servers are end-to-end encrypted, which means we can't read them even if we wanted to. The two approaches to privacy are genuinely different.
Does Apptly work offline?
Fully. All notes are available offline, search works offline, and the AI features work offline since they run on-device. Notes created offline sync automatically when you reconnect.
